Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiothoracic Telemetry Stepdown
About The Position
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for its TCU 5D, a 36-bed cardiothoracic telemetry/cardiac stepdown unit at Edgewood Hospital. The nurse provides and is accountable for evidence-based clinical care to designated patients using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in accordance with ethical and cultural codes and nursing practice standards. The role works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes and requires respectful, dignified, kind, and empathetic interactions with patients, families, visitors, and coworkers. This is a full-time position scheduled for 36 hours per week on the night shift, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Hold a license to practice nursing in the state where the work is performed.
- If eligible, hold a Compact (multi-state) License in the primary state of residence.
- Meet contact-hour requirements for licensure, including state-required courses.
- Have an educational focus that promotes the ability to practice in the assigned clinical area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, and policies.
- Demonstrate competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration.
- Be competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.
- Successfully complete preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.
- Be able to critically think and problem-solve in routine and emergency situations.
