Registered Nurse - RN - Cardiovascular Transplant
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) works on 5 Tower, a 32-bed inpatient private-room unit specializing in post-operative cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, lung and heart transplants, and advanced heart failure, including LVAD care. The unit also includes a six-bed transitional unit for higher-acuity patients requiring specialized care. Nurses develop and use skills including cardiac telemetry, cardiac drips, chest tubes, and external pacers. Loyola University Medical Center seeks dedicated Registered Nurses to provide exceptional, whole-person care. Requirements
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing; BSN or ADN.
- BLS provider certification accredited by the American Heart Association, required prior to hire.
- Illinois Board of Nursing license, required prior to hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients following cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, lung or heart transplantation, and treatment for advanced heart failure, including LVADs.
- Provide specialized care to higher-acuity patients in the transitional unit.
- Use nursing skills including cardiac telemetry, cardiac drips, chest tubes, and external pacers.
- Provide exceptional, person-centered care to patients.
