About The Position

InterHealth Staffing, a for-profit staffing division of Tampa General Hospital, is hiring a seasonal Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Transplant Operating Room. The role is part of a 13-week seasonal assignment. InterHealth Staffing also offers permanent clinical float roles, but this posting is for a seasonal position.

The Perioperative RN provides care throughout patients’ preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative surgical experiences, using the nursing process. The nurse assesses patients, collects and prioritizes data, collaborates with perioperative team members and other healthcare professionals, makes appropriate referrals, and delegates and supervises nursing care. The role also involves assessing patient and family needs, developing and evaluating nursing diagnoses or problem lists, maintaining required education and self-development, and following nursing, dress-code, attendance, and other hospital standards.

Requirements

• Graduation from a school of nursing.
• Current Florida RN license.
• One year of experience.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods of the surgical experience.
• Assess patients and collect, organize, and prioritize patient data.
• Work dependently, independently, and interdepartmentally with perioperative team members.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, make appropriate nursing referrals, and delegate and supervise nursing care in the perioperative setting.
• Assess patient and family needs and formulate, implement, and evaluate nursing diagnoses or problem lists.
• Uphold hospital-wide nursing standards.
• Maintain professional self-development and meet educational requirements.
• Comply with unit and hospital standards for dress code, attendance, and other Human Resource issues.
