About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department working full-time, 36 hours per week, including every other weekend, on the night shift from 7pm to 7am. Hourly pay rate is determined by years of experience as an RN. Shift premiums are available: $2.00/hr for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) and $3.05/hr for 3rd shift (11pm to 7am). A weekend premium of $2.00/hr is also offered.

Requirements

ADN or BSN in nursing
Valid Michigan RN license
BLS, ACLS, PALS required
TEAM certification required within one year

Nice To Haves

Two years nursing experience preferred, but not necessarily required

Responsibilities

Triage incoming patients based on level of injury or illness
Immediately stabilize incoming patients
Administer medication as instructed by physicians
Start intravenous lines
Create and maintain incoming patient records
Work with team of emergency staff to help patients
Help transfer stable patients to other wings
Collect comprehensive data pertinent to patient’s health and situation
Analyze assessment data, identify appropriate nursing diagnosis lists and create individualized plan of care
Evaluate outcomes and adjust nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care
Participate in unit specific/hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives and assist with activities that enhance quality of nursing practice
