About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiovascular Laboratory. The role addresses psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment; communicates with physicians about patient condition; and monitors patients and physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The nurse also helps maintain equipment and inventory, ensures procedure rooms and equipment are ready, obtains supplies for cases, and participates in performance and continuous quality improvement activities.

Requirements

Active state Registered Nursing (RN) license.
Current BCLS (AHA) certification.
ACLS certificate upon hire and maintained as current.
One year of clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations.
Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
Communicate with physicians continuously and as needed about patient condition.
Assist with equipment and inventory maintenance.
Assess procedure room and equipment functioning and readiness.
Obtain supplies for individual cases and ensure the Cardiovascular Laboratory team has its appropriate needs met.
Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
Continuously monitor and record patients’ conditions while in the Cardiovascular Laboratory.
Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
