About The Position

Wilson Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Cath Lab, pre- and post-cath holding, and cardiology stress testing services. The role provides nursing care throughout pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and recovery phases, including serving as the Cath Lab Circulating RN and supporting cardiology stress testing. The nurse performs assessments and interventions, administers medications and treatments, documents care, and communicates patient conditions to physicians, care teams, patients, and families. Care is provided to patients ranging from neonates through older adults. This is an in-person position with a varied day schedule and rotating call, rotating holidays, and approximately every fifth weekend. The employee must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call. The role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting or moving patients, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand and arm movements, with occasional sitting, squatting, or kneeling and rare running or climbing. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including potential occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, is noted.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BCLS), required within one week of hire.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), required within six months of hire.
Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
PALS preferred.
Handle With Care preferred.
One year of experience preferred; Cath Lab, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Endoscopy experience is considered relevant.

Responsibilities

Perform accurate assessments and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
Provide safe, age-appropriate care during pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and recovery phases.
Function as the Circulating RN in the Cath Lab and support Cardiology Stress Testing.
Administer medications and perform clinical treatments.
Document patient care thoroughly.
Communicate patient condition clearly to physicians, care teams, patients, and families.
