Registered Nurse, Myelosuppression/Stem Cell Transplant, Nights- VUH
About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Myelosuppression/Stem Cell Transplant unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The unit cares for adult patients over 17 with hematologic diseases (benign and malignant), solid oncologic tumors, and those needing symptom management. Patients receive standard, cutting-edge, and research therapies, including stem cell and adoptive cellular therapies. The role involves providing holistic care during longer lengths of stay. The nurse will apply the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. They will communicate effectively with the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. Professional growth is encouraged through learning activities aligned with Board of Nursing standards.
Requirements
- LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
- Relevant Work Experience
- Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
- 1 year of experience

Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.

- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
