Registered Nurse, Myelosuppression/Stem Cell Transplant, Nights- VUH
About The Position
Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Myelosuppression/Stem Cell Transplant unit. This role involves caring for adult patients over 17 with hematologic diseases (benign and malignant) and solid oncologic tumors. The patients are undergoing various stages of treatment, including standard, cutting-edge, and research therapies such as stem cell and adoptive cellular therapies. The nursing team provides holistic care to patients and their families throughout potentially longer lengths of stay. This is a night shift position, working 7 PM to 7 AM, three times per week for a total of 36 hours per week, including some weekends.

- Relevant Work Experience
- 1 year experience
- Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
- Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
- Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
