About The Position

Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for providing care to assigned patients, coordinates patient care with other departments, and protects patient rights and the confidentiality of patient information. The position is for weekend MedSurg ICU nights.

Requirements

• Graduate from a school of nursing with an associate's degree, diploma, or BSN.
• Obtain and maintain a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure applicable to where nursing duties are performed, and meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or successfully complete the course within 30 days of hire.
• Be able to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
• Be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Nice To Haves

• Depending on the position or unit, one or more certifications may be required, or may need to be acquired within the department's required timeframe: ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, BLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E. Six Assessment & Care Modules, C-EFM, or other unit-specific certifications.

• Provide patient care using the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process.
• Maintain professional accountability for care provided to assigned patients.
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
