About The Position
Wolfson Children’s Hospital, part of Baptist Health, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its Behavioral Health Unit. This is a full-time day-shift opportunity at the Downtown - Main Building location. The nurse provides patient care using the nursing process and the hospital’s mission, organizes and supervises care delivered by supportive personnel, and coordinates care provided by ancillary services. The role includes working with patients and their significant others or families to develop individualized care plans, educating them about disease processes and plans of care, and advocating for patients requiring treatment for medical, surgical, chronic, or other conditions, including minor injuries or illnesses. The position requires a level II background screening, including detailed fingerprint-based state (FDLE) and national (FBI) criminal-history checks, as a condition of employment and continued employment.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credential is required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required within one year of hire.
- Undergo level II fingerprint-based background screening, including state (FDLE) and national (FBI) criminal-history checks, as a condition of employment and continued employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide for patient needs through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the nursing process and the mission statement.
- Organize and supervise care provided by supportive personnel.
- Coordinate care provided by ancillary services.
- Include patients and their significant others or families in developing individualized plans of care.
- Educate patients and their significant others or families about disease processes and plans of care.
- Serve as a patient advocate and provide care to patients requiring treatment for medical, surgical, chronic, or other conditions, including minor injuries or illnesses.
