About The Position
Wolfson Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time night-shift Mental Health Technician for its inpatient pediatric Behavioral Health Unit in Jacksonville, Florida. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the technician provides patient care focused on safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment. The role also involves documenting patient observations, communicating relevant information about patients’ conditions, assisting with patient education groups and overall milieu supervision, and helping with admissions and discharges as assigned. The position is located at Wolfson Children’s Hospital’s Downtown Main Building. CPI Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Requirements
- Behavioral Health experience.
- High school diploma.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI); certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care that considers safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Document observations on assigned patients.
- Communicate appropriate information regarding patients’ conditions.
- Assist with patient education groups.
- Provide total milieu supervision.
- Assist with admissions and discharges as assigned.
