About The Position

Oneida Health Hospital is seeking a per-diem Registered Nurse to provide additional staffing in the ICU on flex shifts. The RN coordinates patient care and performs nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills, supervises LPNs and related support nursing staff, and reports to the ICU Manager. The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

Associate of Nursing degree.
New York RN license.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
ICU experience: 1 year preferred.
BLS certification preferred.
Physical ability to lift 45 pounds or more; carry 15–44 pounds; pull, push, reach above shoulder, walk for 1 hour per day, stand for 4 hours per day, sit for 2 hours per day, kneel, and bend repeatedly.
Normal vision and hearing.
Ability to wear an N-95 respirator mask.

Nice To Haves

BLS certification.
One year of ICU experience.

Responsibilities

Coordinate patient care and provide nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills.

Maintain neat records and prepare reports in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and healthy environment for staff and patients in accordance with quality standards.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with patients, families, and colleagues.
Use organizational skills to manage supplies and equipment.
Remain calm and professional during crisis and emergent situations.
