About The Position

Oneida Health Hospital is seeking a per-diem Registered Nurse to provide additional staffing in the ICU on flexible shifts. The role coordinates patient care and performs nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills. The nurse supervises LPNs and related support nursing staff and reports to the ICU Manager. The ideal candidate can work independently and as part of a team.

The position involves identifying and addressing patient needs, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a clean and healthy environment in accordance with quality standards. The nurse communicates with patients, families, and colleagues, organizes supplies and equipment, and remains calm and professional during crisis and emergency situations.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing.
• New York RN license.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift 45 pounds or more.
• Ability to carry 15–44 pounds.
• Ability to push, pull, reach above the shoulder, use manual dexterity, walk, stand, sit, kneel, and bend repeatedly.
• Normal vision and hearing.
• Ability to wear an N-95 respirator mask.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care and perform nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills.

• Maintain neat records and prepare reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and healthy environment for staff and patients in accordance with quality standards.

• Remain calm and professional in crisis and emergency situations.
