About The Position

The Registered Nurse serves as a school nurse at a high school in Bibb County. The role administers over-the-counter and prescription medications, provides basic first aid, and supports students with healthcare needs such as asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy. The nurse develops and maintains relationships with parents and school stakeholders, documents care in PowerSchool, keeps medical information up to date, and reviews and updates school immunization and health records. The schedule is 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., for 190 working days per year and 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in the state where the teammate practices.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nurses.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications.
• Provide basic first aid.
• Provide CPR training for staff.
• Manage healthcare needs such as asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with parents and school stakeholders.
• Document in PowerSchool and keep medical information up to date.
• Review and update immunization and health records at the school.
