This is an invite-only interview day for Registered Nurses interested in the Burn Trauma Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital on Wednesday, October 21st. The Burn Trauma Unit is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate Care and Medical/Surgical unit caring for neurosurgery, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, and bariatric weight loss patients. Nurses are trained to work both intermediate and medical-surgical sides. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 3-4 for Intermediate Care beds and 5-6 for Medical/Surgical beds. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively to maintain and support nursing care standards and meet patient, family, and community healthcare needs. Direct Care RNs are needed for Full Time Day (7a-7p) and Night Shift (7p-7a) openings. New graduates are encouraged to apply and will participate in an 11-week Transition to Practice program, which is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program.
