About The Position

The Registered Nurse in Obstetrics delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and directs and guides patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. The nurse responds quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment, helps provide a safe environment for patients and visitors, and uses the chain of command when necessary to support patient well-being and appropriate care for newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
• NRP certification within 90 days of hire and maintain current certification.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire, completed within 60 days of hire, and maintained current.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
