About The Position

Inova Schar Cancer Institute’s Fairfax location is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide clinical care and care coordination in its Malignant Hematology Oncology Clinic. The nurse provides safe, therapeutic, holistic, systematic, and patient- and family-centered care, incorporating an understanding of patients, families, nurses, and healthcare delivery teams. The role includes meeting patient and family needs throughout the care continuum, including education, and coordinating care through direct communication, technology, and collaboration with other healthcare team members.

The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and is closed for Inova’s seven recognized holidays. There are no on-call requirements. Team members work eight-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• At least one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• BSN or ADN; candidates with an ADN must complete a BSN within five years of their start date.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• RN license and eligibility to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Proficiency in English and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of oncology experience is strongly preferred.
