About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed care to patients and families at a competent level, using the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse delivers safe and effective care and works with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. This PRN position is in Surgery at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA), with a schedule of 24 or 48 hours per six weeks.

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing.
• At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or an AHA-recognized equivalent) or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• Ability to perform the stated physical and mental job functions, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and working rotating shifts and overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
