Registered Nurse (RN) - ER
About The Position
Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients, matching patient needs with the nurse’s competencies. The nurse completes the established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned. The position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. Requirements and course-completion timelines vary for Adult ED and Pediatric ED assignments. Adult ED requirements include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. PALS is not required in the Adult ED at North Central Baptist Hospital. ENPC is preferred for Adult ED. Pediatric ED requirements include BLS, PALS, TNCC, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and ENPC.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Possession of a current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
- Adult ED: Have active healthcare provider BLS certification from ARC or AHA at hire; obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
- Adult ED: Complete AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, preferably before the end of the orientation period.
- Adult ED: Complete AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, preferably before the end of the orientation period. PALS is not required in Adult ED at North Central Baptist Hospital.
- Adult ED: Complete TNCC within one year of hire or transfer into the unit.
- Adult ED: Obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
- Pediatric ED: Have active healthcare provider BLS certification from ARC or AHA at hire; obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
- Pediatric ED: Complete AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, preferably before the end of the orientation period.
- Pediatric ED: Complete TNCC within one year of hire or transfer into the unit.
- Pediatric ED: Obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
- Pediatric ED: Complete ENPC within 18 months of hire or transfer into the role.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two years of acute care experience.
- ENPC for Adult ED.
