About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers, directs, and supervises patient care on the nursing unit using the nursing process. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the RN plans, coordinates, and provides patient care, including interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family education for post-hospitalization, and connection to community resources. The RN may perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including serving as a Charge Nurse when appropriately certified.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state where the hospital is located, or compact licensure if the state participates.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment; BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.
• Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Nice To Haves

• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care for patients admitted to the nursing unit.
• Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.
• Provide patients and families with teaching for post-hospitalization.
• Access community resources for patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse duties when qualified.
