About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is accountable for providing high-quality patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and established hospital policies and procedures. The role calls for critical thinking, scientific judgment, and effective leadership to support safe care delivery in a high-pressure environment.

The facility is a Trauma Level III Certified center with stroke and STEMI receiving capabilities. Nurses must be willing to float as needed. The position works night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week.

Requirements

• At least two years of relevant nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Active nursing license in the state.
• Willingness to work night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week.
• Willingness to float as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Cerner EMR.
• Charge nurse experience.
• NIHSS certification is recommended but not required.

Responsibilities

• Use the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Apply critical thinking and scientific judgment to anticipate and plan for patient care needs.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and professional development.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel in delivering patient care.
• Float as needed.
