About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in OR General Surgery provides high-quality, direct and indirect patient-centered care using the nursing process. The nurse coordinates care collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families, and communicates the patient’s clinical condition as appropriate. The role requires responding promptly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment, and applying knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to provide age-appropriate care to the population served. The nurse promotes the nursing profession and professional practice through collegial support and interactions. The position reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager. The role is part of Hartford HealthCare’s Greater Manchester Region, which includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, Rockville General, a multispecialty provider group, and visiting nurse services. New hires are eligible for a $20,000 bonus. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Maintain a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.
- Hold certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire.
- Previous surgical experience or labor and delivery experience, specifically assisting with C-sections, is required.
