Registered Nurse (RN) Day Shift (Full-time) - Behavioral Health -$3,000 Sign-On Bonus
About The Position
Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116-bed facility in the Kingwood community, about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. It provides 24-hour emergency services and psychiatric and behavioral health care for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as intensive outpatient and partial hospital programs. The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric, and chemical dependency patients, using the nursing process. The role assesses mental health needs, develops nursing diagnoses, identifies outcomes, plans and evaluates nursing care, administers or monitors the effects and side effects of physician-ordered medications and treatments, and helps ensure safety through milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; an Associate's Degree is required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of one year of related experience.
- CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed before beginning work.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Psychiatric nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors.
- Direct milieu management.
- Assess patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
- Contribute to treatment plans as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Document nursing care, treatment, and patients’ responses to treatment.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health and chemical dependency disorders and apply appropriate treatment interventions.
- Administer or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician.
- Help ensure patient safety and use crisis intervention strategies.
