About The Position

This position focuses on the care of low to moderate risk women and healthy newborns, with an emphasis on education and impassioned support of the mother-baby dyad. The role involves collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, lactation consultants, fellow nurses, and social workers to provide the highest quality care in a culture of teamwork that values integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence. The expectation is to provide patient and family-centered care ALWAYS, especially in challenging situations. Excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize and problem-solve, comfort with electronic computer systems, and an aptitude for quick learning are required. Requirements

  • Less than one year of experience as a nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience.
  • Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, continues to build competency in the provision of direct patient care.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
  • Provides care of low to moderate risk women and healthy newborns, with an emphasis on education and impassioned support of the mother-baby dyad.
