About The Position

This is a temporary, 13-week, full-time Registered Nurse 2 vacancy on the Medical-Surgical Unit at Mid Coast Hospital. The position is 36 hours per week on the evening shift and is open to candidates with more than one year of RN work experience. The Medical-Surgical Unit provides a safe, nurturing environment for patients of all ages. Its practice includes telemetry, orthopedic and general surgery, cardiac and respiratory care, diabetes, stroke, pediatrics, and gynecological surgery. The Registered Nurse manages patient care through clinical nursing practice, leadership, management, professionalism, and professional growth and development. The role independently assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care and outcomes. The temporary RN provides high-quality care and collaborates, delegates, and communicates with healthcare team members to support optimal care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current applicable state license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
Current BLS certification, or ability to obtain it within 30 days of the start date.
Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency is required for any RN assisting laboring women.
The vacancy is open to candidates with greater than one year of RN work experience.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
One year of recent RN experience preferred.
For ICU, SCU, ED, and PACU RNs: ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of the start date or in accordance with department guidelines.
For OB and NICU RNs: NRP certification within one year of the start date or in accordance with department guidelines.
