Registered Nurse - Medical ICU
About The Position
The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver and member of a multidisciplinary health care team. The nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients during a designated time frame and supervises and provides care using the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self. The role follows established policies and procedures, communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors, provides excellent customer service when interacting with staff, management, and physicians, and applies Cooper core values. Other duties may be required. The position is in the Medical ICU (Viner ICU), a 30-bed unit specializing in care for adult, acutely ill patients in an academic setting. The ICU provides advanced critical care using innovative technology and lifesaving interventions. Its multidisciplinary team cares for critically ill patients requiring treatments including ECMO, cardiac surgery, and interventional pulmonary care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
- Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (NJ-RN) license.
- Current New Jersey Basic Life Support (NJ-BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced certification may be required for certain specialties, such as ACLS, NALS, or PALS.
