About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for its Internal Agency Nursing Pool. This benefit-eligible role works nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., 36 hours weekly. The Internal Float Pool Nurse provides direct, comprehensive nursing care from patient admission through discharge and delivers intermediate-level care on inpatient units according to staffing needs. The pool consists of experienced nurses who may be assigned to any inpatient unit needing additional staffing. The House Managers allocate staff based on the hospital’s greatest needs, and the nurse’s specific Supervisor provides guidance when issues arise. Nurses need recent acute-care hospital experience and must be competent in PCU and Neuro care. Critical Care and Emergency Department experience is welcomed. Requirements

• Current Indiana or compact-state RN license.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required upon hire.
• ACLS for Healthcare Provider certification required upon hire.
• NIHSS certification required upon hire.
• PALS for Healthcare Provider certification required within one year of hire.
• Minimum of two years of previous nursing experience.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute-care nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• PCU and Neuro competency.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in intermediate-level care preferred.
• Critical Care experience welcomed.
• Emergency Department experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to patients from admission through discharge.
• Provide intermediate-level care to patients across inpatient units according to staffing needs.
• Work on inpatient units requiring additional staffing, as assigned by House Managers.
• Seek guidance from the specific Supervisor when issues arise.
