About The Position

The Registered Nurse at Wharton Campus provides professional nursing care and related assistance to patients on an assigned unit. The staff nurse directs licensed vocational nurses and non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care, and supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff and in accordance with the hospital’s objectives.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• One year of acute care clinical nursing experience or equivalent EMT/Paramedic experience.
• Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (or ENPC) certification within 6 months of employment.
• TNCC certification within 18 months of employment.
• Remain current in required certifications.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Critical care experience.
