About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and indirect nursing care in an ambulatory surgery center. The nurse uses the nursing process to determine care objectives within the framework of the physician’s medical plan, patient needs, nursing practice standards, applicable legal regulations, and the center’s policies and procedures. The role also includes related duties needed to support cost containment, operational efficiency, and quality of performance. The position is at the Menomonee Falls Surgery Center in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The schedule has a flexible start between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. There are no holiday or weekend shifts.
Requirements
- Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice normally acquired through at least two years of education at an accredited School of Nursing, sufficient to be eligible for Registered Nurse licensure.
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or a multi-state nursing license from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS), or an AHA-approved equivalent, required within 30 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in Med/Surg, ambulatory surgery, PACU, or OR nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care using the nursing process.
- Determine nursing care objectives in alignment with the physician’s plan of medical care, patient needs, nursing practice standards, legal regulations, and ambulatory surgery center policies and procedures.
- Perform related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, and quality of performance.
