About The Position

Mission Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Neurology service. The nurse delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department requirements, applicable state standards, and nursing practice. Working with medical providers and the care team, the nurse provides personalized and compassionate care using established nursing models, advocates for patients and families, and supports positive clinical outcomes and patient experiences. The role provides professional nursing leadership and uses the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education. The nurse implements prescribed interventions, monitors patient status, administers medications, responds to patient needs, and educates patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up care. Requirements

Associate's Degree in Nursing.
Current registered nurse licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; an eNLC license may apply, and licensees should confirm with NCBON.
BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
National certification in the area of specialty.
One year of hospital nursing experience.

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care that supports patient comfort and well-being.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; delegate, supervise, and document care and patient/family teaching.
Implement medically prescribed interventions.
Assess patients upon admission and during each scheduled shift, and promptly identify and report changes in condition.
Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions ordered by medical providers, documenting care administration thoroughly and promptly in the medical record.
Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action for unintended responses.
Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve them.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring understanding of complex medical information.
Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, compassionate care.
Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.
