About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the general supervision and coordination of nursing personnel activities during the assigned shift, including weekends and holidays, to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. The RN uses the nursing process to assess patients, plan care, and perform care interventions, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare clinicians in planning and implementing patient care. Additional duties within the scope of the role may be assigned.

The position is based at Baptist Medical Center South. The work environment is indoors, protected from weather but not necessarily temperature changes, with minimal noise and substantial computer work. The role includes some exposure to infectious disease and hazardous chemicals, occasional exposure to radiation and risk of electrical shock, and frequent communication with patients and others.

Requirements

• Degree in Nursing required.
• Active RN licensure required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Additional certifications, such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or TNCC, may be required depending on the assigned area.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection-control standards.
• Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
