About The Position

The Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay has a rewarding opportunity for Registered Nurses at Pioneer Ridge, the City’s municipally operated long-term care home. Requirements

  • Current unrestricted certificate of competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Must maintain certificate of registration (general class) from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Knowledge of long-term care legislation, including the Long-Term Care Homes Act and Residents’ Bill of Rights
  • Strong ability to understand and meet the needs of residents, families, and colleagues

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long-term care or gerontology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of care and services to all customers, ensuring residents are receiving the right care at the right time and by the right caregiver
  • Ensure care is delivered appropriately and according to Pioneer Ridge’s standards of quality
  • Coordinate ongoing care and services in collaboration with RPNs, for care plans that meet the individual needs of each resident including preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitative
  • Available for consultation and to assume care if required due to an increase in acuity or complexity
  • Participate in achieving the Pioneer Ridge's strategic plan and long-term goals as they pertain to quality care and services
  • Ensure all resident care and services are congruent with the Pioneer Ridge’s mission, vision, and value statement
