Registered Nurse-Intermittent
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides nursing, medical, and health care services for adolescent males in a Juvenile Residential Treatment Program. This is an intermittent/PRN position, usually working on Tuesday or Wednesday, and offers a flexible schedule. No benefits are provided. Success in the role is measured by effectively providing nursing services according to QRTP standards; consistently administering nursing services in accordance with policy, contract, and licensing standards; meeting case documentation requirements; and maintaining compliance with agency and contractual training and licensure requirements.
Requirements
- Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing.
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse license.
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license without relevant restrictions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to interact positively in a culturally diverse environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Plan and organize work to meet agency and COA standards, licensing requirements, and QRTP requirements.
- Provide health-related services for residential clients.
- Develop, implement, and monitor medical treatment plans for assigned youth.
- Work with physicians to dispense and monitor prescribed client medications.
- Communicate clearly, timely, and appropriately.
- Complete individual charting and required reports accurately and on time.
- Provide health-related education to staff and clients as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with staff and representatives of other agencies.
- Demonstrate personal integrity and professional demeanor consistent with agency and professional ethics.
- Stay informed about current developments in the profession.
- Use education and training opportunities to maintain professional competence.
- Respond appropriately to supervision as part of professional development.
- Perform other duties as required or requested within the scope of the position.
