About The Position

This is a 13-week internal contract position for external candidates who have not been employed by any Deaconess facility in the past 12 months. The Registered Nurse delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse directs and coordinates nursing care according to established clinical nursing practices and collaborates with other professional disciplines to support effective, efficient care and desired patient outcomes. The position is non-benefited.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physical stamina and emotional stability.
• License to practice in the State of Illinois.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or Red Cross BLS certification upon hire.
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Red Cross ALS certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of previous experience in the clinical unit is preferred.
• Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Red Cross PALS certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and coordinate nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices.
• Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care and achieve desired patient outcomes.
