Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ED) - Full-Time Mid Shift
About The Position
The Emergency Department (ED) Unit at Texas Health Denton is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Full-Time Mid Shift position. This role involves providing care to patients with critical injuries or illnesses in one of our 41 Emergent Care Rooms. Our team receives continual training in specialized lifesaving equipment and techniques, fostering a family-like atmosphere focused on compassionate care. The department offers excellent opportunities for educational and career growth, including leadership advancement. It features a state-of-the-art emerging disease and decontamination suite that can accommodate infectious diseases and also function as an inpatient room for extended stays.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- 1-year of Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- ACLS – within 90 days of hire
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
- 2-3 year ER experience preferred.
- ENPC – Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course – 12 months required
- TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course – 12 months required
- PALS - within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
- Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
