Mercy’s Admission, Discharge, and Transition Unit (ADTU) is a short-stay, fast-paced medical unit designed to support hospital patient flow through efficient admissions, discharges, and care transitions. The unit provides care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions who require brief hospitalization, clinical monitoring, stabilization, or transition to another level of care. ADTU plays a critical role in decompressing the emergency department and inpatient units by facilitating timely patient movement across the continuum of care. Staffed by experienced nurses and interdisciplinary team members, the unit emphasizes rapid assessment, safe stabilization, patient education, and coordinated discharge planning to promote quality outcomes and patient safety. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
