About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) at Atrium Health Mercy, specifically on the 7 North/South Med/Surg Orthopedic Surgery Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit. The unit is a 48-bed facility where common procedures include total joint replacements (knee, hip, shoulder), spine, shoulder procedures, and general medical patients. The RN will provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication to create a safe patient environment and optimal patient experience. Atrium Health Mercy is a 196-bed Magnet designated hospital for Nursing Excellence and a Planetree designated patient-centered hospital, specializing in care for seniors, complex foot and ankle surgery, hip and knee surgery, bariatric surgery, and women’s pelvic health. Requirements

  • At least 6 months required experience to come in outside of the New Grad residency program.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support required per policy guidelines.
  • Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside or; if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in your home state; or for Non-National License Compact states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of inpatient nursing experience preferred.
  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
  • Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation.
