About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center delivers care to emergent and critical patients. The role includes didactic learning to build Emergency Department nursing knowledge, with access to a state-of-the-art simulation lab, and opportunities to develop skills in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Nurses use critical thinking to manage high-acuity and complex patients and pursue trauma nurse certification.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
• The ideal candidate will have one or more years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS and TNCC certification; support is available after hire.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of one year of acute inpatient nursing experience may qualify a candidate for training.
• ACLS and TNCC certification, with support available post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to emergent and critical patients in the Emergency Department.
• Participate in didactic learning sessions focused on Emergency Department nursing and use of a simulation lab.
• Apply critical thinking to manage high-acuity and complex patients.
• Pursue certification as a trauma nurse.
