About The Position

Millwood Hospital, a 134-bed mental health facility in Arlington, Texas, provides inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency treatment to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members, following the nursing process and standards of care and practice.

This position is on the PICU day shift, working rotating weeks of 12-hour shifts from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Weekend work is required, with days varying. The nurse must attend full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1 is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Week 2 is Monday through Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program.
• Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification and training in the appropriate use of seclusion and restraint are required before working with patients.
• Successful completion of CPI training and Service Excellence Training is required before working with patients; certifications may be obtained during new-hire orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of three (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
