About The Position

Valleywise Health is seeking a PICU Nurse to provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Executive DON, Ambulatory, the nurse collaborates with physicians and specialists to deliver critical, age-specific nursing care in a dynamic, team-driven environment. The hourly pay rate is $34.15–$50.37.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete the Valleywise Health New Graduate RN training program or have prior acute nursing experience demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must possess a current, valid Arizona RN license, temporary Arizona RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice, and be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
• Must obtain a BLS card through an American Heart Association training center upon hire.
• Must have PALS and NRP upon hire or transfer, or within three months if a new graduate or new to the service.
• Must obtain ATCN, TNCC, or PCAR within twelve months.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse people.
• Excellent communication, time-management, and customer-service skills.
• Basic computer word-processing skills and ability to navigate an electronic medical record using a computer.
• Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing preferred.
• Previous acute-care hospital experience in the area of application preferred.
• Bilingual ability preferred.
• PCAR preferred.
