About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Mom Baby/L&D Float provides per-diem nursing coverage in maternal-child health, labor and delivery, and related areas. The role is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care through outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the nurse coordinates care and collaborates extensively with team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others. The nurse maintains high standards of professional ethics and is expected to have MCH/OB/L&D experience.

Requirements

Valid New Jersey RN license; approved licenses must be presented and maintained in accordance with the State of New Jersey licensing board requirements.
MCH/OB/L&D experience required.
Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Maintain current nursing practice through ongoing education and professional reading.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimens.

Delegate and monitor care provided by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.

Identify and participate in performance-improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
Coordinate patient care and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and their families or significant others.
