About The Position

Comfort Home Care is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide psychiatric and home health nursing in patients’ homes in the New Bedford/Fall River area. The role is described as a morning weekday shift and offers flexible scheduling, autonomy, and support. Nurses help patients remain independent, avoid unnecessary hospitalizations, and receive compassionate care at home. Registered Nurses assess patients’ conditions, medical needs, and well-being; create and modify care plans as needs change; teach patients about matters such as medication guidance and wound care; and communicate changes to providers, families, and care teams. Nurses document visits from home. The position calls for clinical skill, independence, and adaptability, and offers a competitive base salary with an uncapped incentive plan.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
One year of nursing experience.
Reliable transportation for patient visits.
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

Home health or psychiatric nursing experience.

Responsibilities

Assess patients’ current condition, medical needs, and overall well-being during visits.
Create and modify treatment and care plans based on patients’ needs and changes in their conditions.
Teach and support patients, including providing medication guidance and wound-care education.
Communicate changes to providers, families, and care teams to coordinate appropriate care.
Document patient visits by submitting notes from home.
Help psychiatric and home health patients remain independent and avoid unnecessary hospitalizations.
