About The Position

Ascension Via Christi, St Teresa is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Surgery specialty in Wichita, KS. This is a full-time, day shift position with 4 shifts per week, Monday - Friday from 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, and includes call requirements. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through their academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Requirements

Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Lead the surgical environment as a dual-threat clinician, expertly navigating both scrub and circulating roles to ensure seamless operative flow.
Advocate for patient safety by vigilantly monitoring physiological status and communicating critical changes to the surgical team in real-time.
Partner directly with surgeons during complex procedures, providing skilled technical assistance in hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure to optimize clinical outcomes.
Coordinate the sterile field and surgical theater by meticulously preparing specialized instrumentation and equipment, ensuring the right tools are ready at the right moment.
Document the complete patient perioperative journey to maintain a high-standard, continuous record of care that ensures safety and compliance from incision to recovery.
