About The Position

Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Infusion Therapy team at the Clay campus in Jacksonville, Florida. The role provides infusion and nursing care, including medication administration, patient assessment, education, advocacy, and coordination of care. This is a full-time, day position, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

Associate of Science in Nursing required.
Registered Nurse (RN) credential through State Nursing Boards required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
IV team experience.
Oncology infusion experience.

Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture, insert IV catheters, and provide PICC line care.
Calculate and administer IV medications.
Recognize signs of patient distress or medication reactions.
Identify abnormal laboratory results in relation to patients’ medications and comorbidities.
Obtain vital signs.
Address patient needs through the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Supervise care provided by supportive personnel and coordinate care with ancillary services.
Include patients and their significant others or families in developing individualized plans of care.
Educate patients and their significant others or families about disease processes and plans of care.
Serve as a patient advocate and assist Interventional Radiologists.
Provide optimal care using the nursing process.
