About The Position

The Siratt Women's Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN. This role is for the night shift, 36 hours weekly, with 3-12 hour shifts from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am, featuring self-scheduling. The L&D department includes a 9-bed L&D unit, a 4-bed OB ED, and 3 OR suites, handling an average of 200 deliveries per month. The hospital is a Level III NICU and has Maternal Designation III. The role involves caring for a wide range of patients, including those requiring nitrous oxide, midwifery care, and high-risk patients. Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days of hire
• NRP – within 90 days of hire
• NRPA - within 90 days of hire
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
• 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of RN experience in L&D strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
