About The Position

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocates for patients to support an exceptional patient experience. The role is with HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, a 415+ bed acute care hospital serving north Houston communities.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of acute care experience required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ conditions during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document care in patient medical records in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients’ responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Collaborate with medical providers to provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Advocate for patients and support a positive patient experience.
