About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides professional Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery in the PACU. The RN assesses patient needs, monitors recovery, manages pain, maintains airway and oxygen support, and ensures safe transfer or discharge. The position cares for patients from pediatric through geriatric populations and follows ASPAN standards and facility policies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- Current Pennsylvania RN license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to care for pediatric through geriatric patients.
Nice To Haves
- Previous PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia nursing care.
- Assess patients and prioritize care needs.
- Monitor vital signs, airway, oxygen levels, and recovery status.
- Provide pain management and nursing interventions.
- Communicate with physicians, patients, families, and care team members.
- Prepare patients for safe discharge or transfer.
- Follow ASPAN standards and facility policies.
- Maintain required PACU skills and competencies.
