The Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses to guide patients on their journey of recovery. As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver quality general/psychiatric nursing care to patients hospitalized for treatment of psychiatric or emotional disorders. You will support the hospital and program philosophy of care and ensure the safety and well-being of each patient. This role requires the ability to perform suicide assessments and understand suicide precautions, identify and incorporate each patient’s unique needs into a comprehensive and individualized care plan, and maintain accurate and legible documentation that meets current standards and policies. You will also respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services. Through systematic interaction with patients, their significant others, and appropriate healthcare providers, you will collect and analyze data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, spiritual, cultural, and anticipated discharge needs; determine patient's alcohol or drug toxicity; identify signs of withdrawal; and conduct screenings or assessments to determine needs of treatment. You will also document physician’s phone orders and maintain knowledge of legal guidelines pertaining to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting.
