About The Position

The Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses to guide patients on their journey of recovery. As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver quality general/psychiatric nursing care to patients hospitalized for treatment of psychiatric or emotional disorders. You will support the hospital and program philosophy of care and ensure the safety and well-being of each patient. This role involves performing suicide assessments and understanding suicide precautions, identifying and incorporating each patient’s unique needs into a comprehensive and individualized care plan, and maintaining accurate and legible documentation that meets current standards and policies. The position also includes responding to inquiries about mental health services, collecting and analyzing patient data to determine needs, and documenting physician's phone orders. Maintaining knowledge of legal guidelines pertaining to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Current Nevada RN License required
  • Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality general/psychiatric nursing care to patients hospitalized for treatment of psychiatric or emotional disorders.
  • Support the hospital and program philosophy of care and ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.
  • Perform suicide assessments and understand suicide precautions.
  • Identify and incorporate each patient’s unique needs into a comprehensive and individualized care plan.
  • Accurate and legible documentation that meets current standards and policies.
  • Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.
  • Through a systematic process of interaction with patients, the patient's significant others, and the appropriate health care providers, collect and analyze data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, spiritual, cultural and anticipated discharge needs.
  • Determine patient's alcohol or drug toxicity; identify signs of withdrawal; conduct screenings or assessments to determine needs of treatment.
  • Document physician’s phone orders.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal guidelines pertaining to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting.
