Registered Nurse (RN) - Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown) - Flexi/PRN - Days
About The Position
Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), also known as Stepdown. The IMCU is a 24-bed unit that provides care for higher acuity patients in neuro, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and renal. Typical patients include those with respiratory failure/congestive heart failure, chronic trached ventilator patients, stroke and seizure patients, MI cardiac patients, Renal hemodialysis, and post-op surgical patients with extensive wounds. The hospital is a magnet-designated facility committed to teamwork and quality healthcare.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- None required (experience)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
- 1 year of acute care (preferred)
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Adhere to the standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
- Uphold the standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
